Snore Check Examination

Snoring is not always a "harmless" noisy and annoying symptom during sleep. In many cases, it can have serious effects on your body and affect your professional and social life more broadly.

Snoring, either on its own or in conjunction with other symptoms, should raise suspicion of obstructive sleep apnea, a condition characterized by interruptions in breathing while you sleep. In addition to the fatigue or drowsiness you may experience, there can be other consequences, either perceptible or not, such as hypertension, progressing or worsening heart disease, arrhythmias, arteriosclerosis, memory loss, and reduced sexual desire.

SNORE CHECK Examination

The SNORE CHECK digital breath analysis is the essential first step in scientifically addressing snoring.

  • It is completely simple and painless.

  • It is performed in your own space during sleep.

  • It accurately investigates the type and causes of snoring.

  • It determines whether obstructive sleep apnea is present and to what degree.

  • It precisely identifies the causes of snoring, providing the physician with all the necessary information to recommend the appropriate treatment.

Global studies report that 20% of those who snore suffer from sleep apnea.

Drowsiness due to sleep apnea is considered the cause of 8% of traffic accidents and is a major cause alongside alcohol consumption. Additionally, a significant percentage of workplace accidents are attributed to sleep apnea. Worldwide studies indicate that individuals with sleep apnea syndrome have an increased risk of stroke, pulmonary hypertension, right ventricular hypertrophy, and myocardial infarction.

Service at Your Location

The SNORE CHECK service, in collaboration with Affidea's Home Care service, with specialized nursing staff, will deliver and collect the examination equipment at your location and provide instructions for its use. After you complete the test, the following day, according to a scheduled plan, the department staff will retrieve the equipment from you and deliver it to the physician. The physician will analyze the results of your sleep breath recording and address your issue.

In addition to SNORE CHECK, nocturnal oximetry is also performed. These two tests together provide a comprehensive examination of snoring and sleep apnea. They are interrelated and complementary.

Instructions for Proper Breath Recording with SNORE CHECK

  • You should be alone in the room where you will sleep.

  • The room chosen for the test should be quiet.

  • Keep windows and doors closed to minimize external noise interference.

  • Stay away from household appliances that may cause noise, such as refrigerators, air conditioners, fans, or clocks.

  • Once the Snore Check microphone is placed on your chest, either with adhesive or a clip, press the red REC button on the device just before you fall asleep.
