Gynecological Department
What for
Affidea has a well-equipped Gynecology Department staffed with highly trained, specialized, and experienced doctors who are capable of applying preventive methods for the recognition, management, and monitoring of the full spectrum of benign and malignant gynecological conditions.
The department provides services including annual preventive gynecological check-ups with clinical examination, transvaginal ultrasound, and Pap test.
Conducted Examinations
GYNECOLOGY
Transvaginal Ultrasound of Internal Genital Organs.
The gynecological ultrasound is a painless, non-invasive examination aimed at checking the uterus, endometrium, and ovaries.
Examination of the uterus can reveal congenital anatomical anomalies, fibroids, polyps, endometrial hyperplasia, the presence of adenomyosis, and more.
The examination of the ovaries assesses their size, shape, contour, and morphology (e.g., polycystic ovaries, endometriosis, benign and malignant ovarian cysts and tumors).
The exam also includes checking the fallopian tubes to exclude potential pathologies such as hydrosalpinx, ectopic pregnancy, and pelvic inflammatory disease.
Color Doppler may be used during the examination for the best possible evaluation of each finding.
OBSTETRICS
First Trimester Ultrasound (up to the 10th week)
Screening in the first trimester of pregnancy includes measuring Nuchal Translucency, Nasal Bone, and Biochemical Markers. Risk assessment for preeclampsia.
Triple Test or Alpha-fetoprotein Test
Second Trimester Ultrasound (genetic, Level II)
Developmental Ultrasound
Third Trimester Ultrasound (Doppler, Biophysical Profile)
Invasive Diagnostic Methods: Chorionic Villus Sampling, Amniocentesis.
Non-invasive Prenatal Screening
Transvaginal and obstetric ultrasounds are conducted by a gynecologist with specialization in ultrasonography
